North of England Regional Officer - Musicians' Union

Philip Morris is the Regional Officer for the North of England for Musicians’ Union, the UK Trade Union which represents over 36,000 members working in all sectors of the music business including music education.

Prior to his employment as a Trade Union Officer, Philip worked for Sentric Music Group, an award-winning publishing company in Rights Management and latterly as a Synchronisation Manager where he procured and negotiated lucrative placements in global advertising campaigns, major motion picture and TV streaming series.

Philip has previously worked as a Press Officer both for a regional music marketing company that specialised in promoting touring bands, label launches and new releases and also for the biggest political education conference in the UK.

As a musician he has written and produced music that has been broadcast on national radio and television and has toured internationally.

The Musicians' Union is the UK trade union for all musicians representing over 36,000 musicians across the UK working in all sectors of the music business. As well as negotiating on behalf of members with all the major employers in the industry, we offer a range of support services for musicians.

We stand up for employed and self-employed musicians working in every area of the UK music industry, including music education.

We work to maximise the employment and overall income of musicians as well as protecting and improving working conditions. We also offer advice, support and legal assistance based on every individual member’s needs.

We lobby government at all levels and campaign on a national and international scale on issues of relevance to our members.

We actively oppose all forms of harassment, prejudice and unfair discrimination.
