Ellur

Artist - Ellur

Halifax artist Ellur writes soaring indie guitar songs about growing up and acceptance. Every word counts in each Ellur song, the Yorkshire artist is a storyteller and lets listeners further into her world with every track.

Ellur (named after the Yorkshire pronunciation of her name Ella) writes songs about feeling, battling with, and ultimately drawing comfort from vulnerability in a way that takes influence equally from classic alternative rock as it does the new school of songwriters of today.

Ellur’s brutally honest reflection on life in your emerging 20s hasn't been lost on the music industry or a growing audience online, with playlisting support at Radio 1, Spotify, endorsements from various artists (including The Flaming Lip's Wayne Coyne), and a first full UK tour on track to sell out across the country.

Over the past year, Ellur has made festival appearances at SXSW in Austin Texas, Reading & Leeds Festivals and shows with Robbie Williams, Supergrass and Blossoms. The gifted songwriter has also drawn plaudits throughout the press community (NME, Consequence of Sound, Dork, DIY, The Line of Best Fit, Clash), BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music.
