Launchpad named as Discover Creative Careers Ambassador

Launchpad are pleased to be able to share that we've been named as a Discover Creative Careers Champion and Ambassador.

We join a cohort of over 130 other organisations and individuals backing DCC and their work helping young people across the UK learn about and access opportunities in the creative industries. One of Launchpad’s key ambitions in our work is to help make the creative industries more accessible to all, and that’s an ethos we feel very much aligned on with Discover Creative Careers.

On the announcement, Launchpad Project Operations Manager and Advisor Lins Wilson says: “Creative Careers activity is absolutely integral to the future of the creative industries and wider economy, and so important for young creative minds, perhaps not suited to traditional career pathways, to understand what roles and support are available to them - now and in their future. The work Music Local / Launchpad does as Yorkshire's leading talent development and music sector support organisation aligns with the Discover Creative Careers mission to break down barriers to the creative industries, and so we are delighted to be one of the programme's first badged ambassadors.”

Discover Creative Careers supports young people to explore the diverse range of creative careers available, connecting them with the insights, experiences and opportunities they need to move forward with confidence.

Launchpad has previously collaborated with Discover Creative Careers, delivering a sector-based work academy program (SWAP) as featured in the UK Government Music Growth Plan, and a Music Industry Careers Day for 200 school and college students in partnership with UK Music and Leeds Beckett University.
