Kit Bligh

"Kit is a 19-year-old musician and artist from Hull who has recently completed their UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music Performance and Production at college, gaining experience in live sound and lighting, production and recording, and music business and history.

Kit is hugely passionate about keeping the DIY grassroots music scene alive. They believe that community is key, and that all people should be equipped with accessible knowledge and tools to help springboard them towards whichever creative pathway they choose, irrespective of their background. Kit has attended and spoke at numerous conferences advocating for young people in music and is keen to learn more about how the industry can be safeguarded for young people, as they believe this to be a much- needed addition. Kit wants to help shape the industry into a safer and fairer place to exist for ALL, especially those underrepresented in the industry or who feel they don’t fit in.

Kit runs workshops, designs and makes merchandise for bands, interviews bands for Soundsphere Magazine, conducts photoshoots with local musicians and bands, and has worked with local charities to produce artwork for events. A proud member of Hull’s Hinterland Creative Collective, Kit contributes to collaborative creative projects such as music video and photoshoots, working as a production assistant and illustrator. Kit believes in the importance of a band’s visual identity and image and enjoys making musicians’ visions come to life.

Playing drums and singing lead vocals in acclaimed melodic screamo punk band ‘WENCH!’ since age 16, Kit is known for their raw and intense performance style, as well as loudly advocating for safe and accessible gig spaces. Kit is involved in the local scene from steering groups to mosh pits, playing regular gigs both locally and nationwide at grassroots venues and festivals across the country."
