Ari Mullen
Ari is a Sheffield-born artist, songwriter, performer, and practitioner studying at Leeds Conservatoire.
After joining the committee that runs her home-town music festival, organising events for young people in the area, and leading Sheffield’s NHS Choir, the young professional was inspired to co-create Roots in Music. Roots in Music is a Non-Profit Organisation delivering music workshops in community settings, aiming to eliminate barriers in music education and bring people of all ages and backgrounds together through song. The organisation has just completed its first round of projects in Cambridgeshire, and following a successful evaluation, is looking for future funding to support similar projects in Leeds.
This past year Ari’s artist project ‘ARI’ has taught her a multitude of skills she hopes to carry throughout the rest of her career. The indiepop/folk artist supported her latest single with a five-stop tour, discovering that the marketing, graphic design, and budgeting elements were ‘almost as enjoyable as actually performing!’ Arianna is passionate about contributing to the Northern arts scene and is excited to continue expanding on the more holistic skills that come with being an independent artist.
Moving forward, Ari hopes she can share her knowledge and experience with other young professionals, continue advocating for music education, and bring communities together through the power of music.
She can’t wait to get stuck in!
