Community Producer (Music, Culture & Connection) - Independent / Cheers Everyone

Michelle Regan is a Leeds-based community producer working across music, culture and connection, and is the recipient of a Leeds social impact award.

She has created and led grassroots initiatives, groups and creative projects that bring people together, with a particular focus on mental health, recovery, inclusion and the role of music in community life.

With a background in senior HR and people management, Michelle combines strong people-focused skills with a passion for inclusive, community-led spaces. She has supported grassroots music infrastructure in Leeds, including work with Old Chapel Music Studios, and has also contributed at board level within the community sector.

She recently curated the Club Culture section of Music Leeds Us at Leeds City Museum, helping to widen the lens on Leeds music heritage and bring forward underrepresented voices. She is currently developing Cheers Everyone, a new concept supporting venues to create more welcoming experiences for a wider range of customers — whether they drink alcohol or not.

Cheers Everyone is an independent Leeds-based concept exploring how venues and social spaces can feel more welcoming and inclusive for a wider range of people — whether they drink alcohol or not. With an initial focus on music venues, the initiative looks at how environment, culture and choice can shape better shared experiences, helping more people feel comfortable, included and part of the moment, while also supporting venues to engage a broader and more diverse audience. Driven by a belief in connection and changing social habits, Cheers Everyone is engaging with venues and audiences across Leeds through research and open conversation, ensuring the approach is shaped by real experiences and needs. Insights from this work will inform a practical framework and toolkit to support venues in creating more inclusive, future-facing spaces. A city-wide survey will be launching soon to gather perspectives from both venues and audiences.
