Yorkshire Music Forum have announced the return of the YMF Convention, sharing first details of the 2026 event which will take place on Thursday October 15th at Belgrave Music Hall in Leeds. Free to attend, and delivered in partnership with Launchpad, the all-day event returns for a 10th consecutive year and will once again present music industry focused panel discussions from leading experts along with networking opportunities for emerging artists and industry professionals.
Now marking its landmark 10th year, the Convention continues to champion Yorkshire's music community, bringing together a full day of expert-led panels, keynote conversation, and valuable networking designed to help professionals across the region take their next steps. A decade in, the event remains a vital meeting point for the region's music industry; a space where established professionals and rising talent alike come together for discussion, connection, and a look at what's next for music in Yorkshire and beyond.
Leading the programme is a Keynote Interview with Chris Tams, Director of Membership & International at BPI. Originally hailing from Wakefield, Chris's 30-year career spans radio plugging during the Britpop era, the early growth of the label services sector, and seven years at the heart of the digital music industry as many of today's major streaming services first took shape. A committed advocate for independent music, he draws on that breadth of experience to support BPI's members and help the wider industry reach its potential.
The remainder of the day's discussions will cover a wide range of industry topics, from synchronisation to music export and more, with further programming details to be announced in due course.
