Satnam Galsian

Vocalist

Satnam Galsian is a British-Asian vocalist. Since receiving her Indian classical music degree from Birmingham Conservatoire, she has been working with a diverse range of multidisciplinary artists creatively exploring the interplay of North Indian and Western music traditions. Her stylistic versatility allows her to synthesise iridescent tapestries of cross genre influence. She currently performs with her fusion trio Kinaara who have released two EPs to date: Across The River (2021) and Colours In Black (2022). Long committed to the holistic and therapeutic applications of music, Satnam has worked with various organisations such as HCMF//, Hoot Creative Arts and Darts to deliver community music sessions that promote health and wellbeing. Satnam was awarded the Alan James Creative Bursary 2023 to work with fellow Leeds artist Maddie Morris to research and explore gender based violence in Punjabi and English folk songs.
