Junior Simba

Junior is a Leeds-based DJ, producer and creative born in Zimbabwe. A University of Leeds graduate in Actuarial Mathematics and alumnus of Leeds Student Radio, he fell in love with the city's music scene while at uni, working the doors, flyering and selling tickets for Mint Club/Festival/Warehouse, learning the industry from the ground up before beginning his Artist project.

By day he works in data, and that analytical thinking helps how he approaches music, understanding streaming, audiences and making decisions behind building an independent artist project outside of London.

Alongside the music, Junior runs Sometimes We Party an event brand that started in spaces like District, Wharf and Headrow house and now expanding to London, Manchester and Europe. He is on a mission to make his mark as a creative who breaks barriers by allowing his culture to shine through, and by putting Leeds, Black and African artists at the forefront of dance music.

Junior Simba is an artist that blends emotional electronic dance of and club energy in his productions.

Nominated for the BBC Radio 1 Dance Award for BBC Introducing Artist of the Year in 2022, shortlisted alongside Barry Can't Swim, Taahliah, Hannah Laing and Tibasko.

Pete Tong selected Precision as an Essential New Tune, The Blessed Madonna named him as one to watch, Featured as a Beatport Next Artist; a Fresh Find Artist on Spotify and as a cover artists on playlists like Altar and UK Dance Music.

Live, he has been invited to open for both Pete Tong's Orchestra and Fatboy Slim on their arena tours, played Glastonbury,Lost Village ,fabric London, the Warehouse Project, Field Day in the UK and in Europe Snowbombing, Watergate Berlin ,Hideout, Way Out West and Åre Festival.
