Vanessa Ndukuba (Artist - Afrobaby)
I’m a British-Nigerian creative raised on a council estate in Bradford. Growing up mixed race in a Northern village taught me how to navigate in-between spaces, and that perspective runs through everything I create. My work explores mental health, grief, identity, and the power of vulnerability , especially through the lens of being a Black woman. Whether it’s music, visuals, or honest conversation, I aim to create space for others to feel seen, safe, and soft.
Afrobaby is a genre-blending artist known for creating introspective music that lives between electronic, R&B, and alternative sounds. Rooted in personal experience, her songs explore anxiety, identity, and self-discovery — offering listeners both comfort and catharsis. Born in Bradford with Nigerian heritage, she grew up on a mix of Happy Hardcore, Bassline, and indie, which continue to shape her bold, melodic sound. Her debut EP SAFE SPACE showcases this mix of euphoria and emotion, described by BBC Introducing as a “fresh, empowering sound.”
