Sarah Shiels is a music venue director and creative practitioner, working across Hull and Yorkshire. A Director at The New Adelphi Club CIC, musician, chair of the Hull Music Board and Learning Development Manager at Hull Culture & Leisure, she is committed to inclusion, lifelong learning and embedding music at the heart of Hull's cultural identity.
The New Adelphi Club is a key part of Hull’s grassroots music scene, supporting emerging artists and providing an inclusive space for live performance and creative development. Rooted in the local community, it champions independent music and nurtures talent at all stages. Hull Culture and Leisure contributes to the city’s wider cultural landscape through arts, heritage and learning opportunities that engage diverse audiences. The Hull Music Board supports the strategic development of music in the region, strengthening advocacy and opportunities for local artists. Together, this work helps sustain a vibrant, accessible music ecology and reinforces Hull’s identity as a creative and culturally active city.
