Kayah Hazell (Radio Producer - BBC Introducing, 1Xtra)

Kayah Hazell is a Birmingham-based freelance radio producer with over 10 years of experience across podcasting, community, and online radio. She currently produces BBC Introducing on 1Xtra, hosted by Theo Johnson, an actor, filmmaker and presenter. In 2022, the show made history as the first permanent BBC Radio 1Xtra programme to broadcast from outside of London.

A Broadcast Journalism graduate, Kayah brings a strong mix of technical know-how and a real passion for music and talent development. She’s worked with some of the biggest names in the broadcasting industry, including Heartless Crew, Seani B, Eddie Kadi and DJ Ace.

Known for her keen ear for fresh talent, Kayah is all about championing new voices and helping emerging artists break through and get the recognition they deserve.
