Lola Simms
Lola Simms writes songs that feel like quiet confessions — the kind that stay with you long after they end. Built around intricate guitar lines in unusual tunings and soft, unguarded vocals, her music sits comfortably within alternative folk, balancing fragility with emotional clarity. Influenced by artists such as Laura Marling, Flyte and Adrianne Lenker, Lola’s songwriting feels thoughtful, intimate and unmistakably her own.
Hailing from the North East, Lola first gained wider attention in 2020 with her debut EP, which led to an interview with Anna Foster on BBC Radio Newcastle. Soon after, her unreleased track Always Lose was picked up by BBC Introducing, marking the beginning of an ongoing relationship with the platform. More recently, the latest two singles from her upcoming EP have also received airplay on BBC Introducing, signalling a confident new chapter in her work.
Alongside her recorded work, Lola has built a reputation as a captivating live performer. She has supported Greek artist 'Stella' at Brudenell Social Club and multiple Sofar Sounds shows, where her intimate songwriting and understated delivery feel especially at home.
With new music on the way and continued support from BBC Introducing, Lola Simms is an artist taking her time — and trusting the right people will listen.
