Augustin Bousfield’s music is a fascinating blend of progressive synth-pop, funk, and retro-futuristic electronica. Produced from his Bradford studio often described as in the vein of Max Tundra, John Grant, A.G Cook, Syd Barrett and Scritti Politti..
Tracks from recent album, ‘Anymoor’ and subsequent singles have been played frequently on 6music and Radio X, Influences from Ryuichi Sakamoto to Kraftwerk, fusing chip-tuned beats, frazzled funk, and progressive synth elements, with often subtly complex lyrics into a cohesive, engaging sound.
Bousfield has collaborated with artists Saint Etienne, co-writing and producing their recent albums, and writing upcoming tracks with SE, Nick Heyward and Vince Clarke. Remixing bands Deary, Dot Allison, Communicant, Printed Circuit, Cowtown and Lark, he's also in progpop heroes, 'Gurgles'
He also presented two 6music shows and composed music for film, TV and radio.
